Nicole broke up with Matt months ago and is now engaged to someone else. He’s very good-looking and has no trouble finding other lovers, but that doesn’t help because he’s still obsessed with wanting her back. Then he gets the inspiration that swearing off sex for Lent (all forms of sexual activity, even kissing or masturbation) will give him the perspective he needs. So of course a few days later he meets a woman and they fall in love. Now Matt sees his vow as a personal matter, and won’t even tell her about it, but his friends think otherwise, and now the complications begin…

This is the story of three gentle persons: Paul Rivers (Penn) an ailing mathematician lovelessly married to an English emigré (Gainsbourg), Christina Peck, an upper-middle-class suburban housewife, happily married and mother of two little girls, and Jack Jordan (Del Toro), an ex-convict who has found in his Christian faith the strength to raise a family. They will be brought together by a terrible accident that will change their lives. By the final frame, none of them will be the same as they will learn harsh truths about love, faith, courage, desire and guilt, and how chance can change our worlds irretrievably, forever.

There are five new tales of horror and suspense in this follow-up to George A. Romero & Stephen King’s 1982 horror anthology classic. In “Alice”, a snotty teenage girl gets her just desserts in the form of a demonic universal television remote. In “The Radio”, a security guard is driven to the very brink of madness and eventually murder thanks to a possessed radio. Next up, in “Call Girl” a murdering, cold-blooded prostitute accidentally hooks up with a vampire client. In “The Professor’s Wife”, a demented professor with a taste for pranks tricks his two best students into believing he’s getting married. But there’s something rather sinister about his new bride-to-be. Lastly, in “Haunted Dog”, a cruel miserly doctor kills a homeless man by purposely giving him a contaminated hotdog - a tale of savage revenge from beyond the grave.

Powerful supernatural forces are unleashed when a young architect (Kelly Reilly) becomes pregnant after moving to an isolated and mysterious valley to build a house. And when the neighbouring farmers take against the unborn child, it’s her very survival that is threatened.

Leigh Ann Watson is a teenage student at Grandsboro High. An “A” in history would make her valedictorian and get her a scholarship to Harvard. When she turns in her history project, a 365 day diary of a girl accused in the Salem witch trials, a 6 month effort, she receives a “C” from history teacher Mrs. Tingle, the meanest teacher at Grandsboro High. This gives an opportunity for Marybeth Carter, a rival student, to achieve an “A” and become valedictorian. As Leigh Ann tries to catch up doing extra credit by setting up graduation seating with her best friend, Jo Lynn, history class failure Luke Churner, enters with Mrs. Tingle’s final exam cheat sheet. Leigh Ann is caught with it and Mrs. Tingle threatens to tell the Principal about it. The result would have been expulsion, so the trio of teenagers attempt to regain Leigh Ann’s innocence by reasoning with Mrs. Tingle. When their attempt fails, they attack Mrs. Tingle and tie her to her bed. Is there a possible way to prove Leigh Ann innocent?

Will Spanner, the reluctant heir to a dark legacy, is once again thrown into battle against the forces of evil when a series of gruesome murders begins to take place. The victims are all brutally murdered in a ritualistic fashion - the heart is missing from each of the corpses. All of the victims also have something in common with Will, something that the minions of darkness will stop at nothing to possess. Now, the conflict between a killer, who slowly discovers his abilities to live, to feel, to love and a corrupt police officer, who does anything in his might to get rid of an eye witness, arises to unmeasurable proportions - all for the sake of a little twelve-year old girl, who has nearly nothing to lose.
